The guy's a hero. What was the bank thinking? I wonder if they fired the security officer too for not doing his job.
THE GUY SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED...HE'SNOT SUPPOSED TO GO CHASING BANK ROBBERS. THAT WOULD GIVE HIM POLICEMAN DUTY
All too often employers have employees take on other responsibilities other than what the job describes. It's all too familiar...the waiter now becomes "the janitor", sweeping up and taking out the trash after his shift. Employers will always rule the roost. The bank teller did not deserve to be fired. Did the bank fire the security guards for not doing their jobs too? I understand the policy, the bank doesn't want its employee or customers to be injured in the process. So suspend them (with pay) or remind them not to do that again. Firing is not the answer. I suspect the discharge is nothing more than an excuse for the bank to reduce their payroll in this current economic climate.
